Where to Stay

We have reserved a block of rooms (at $89/night) Thursday night through Saturday night at the Marriott Fairfield Inn, which opens this July and is < 2 miles from Grassy Creek Vineyards, where all the festivities are held. From the website, it looks like it is going to be a really nice place. We also have an 18 passenger vehicle and driver reserved for both Friday and Saturday nights that will shuttles guests to and from the Fairfield Inn to Grassy Creek. There are two ways of making reservations: you can call central reservations (1-800-228-2800) or book online. If you call, you will just need to mention the hotel and the name and dates of the group. Central reservations can go from there. If you go online, you will need to go to the hotel's website and put in one of the online booking codes in the "group code" box, along with the dates. You will need to enter ELWELWA if you would like to book a king room and ELWELWB if you would like to book a queen queen room. Once you make a reservation you will get an 8-digit confirmation number that starts with an 8.

How to Get Here

Grassy Creek Vineyards, in State Road, NC is approximately 1 hour, 15 minutes north of Charlotte and 1 hour, 15 minutes west of Greensboro, so those are the two closest cities with major airports. Alternatively, the Raleigh-Durham airport does tend to be more affordable, and it is slightly over a 2 hour drive from the weekend festivities. Hopefully guests that are flying to NC can share rental cars; please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like information to get that organized. Also, on the right side of this page, we have placed links with driving directions from local airports, etc.

Getting Engaged in the Berkshires

Jason asked me to marry him on October 28th in Western Mass while we were hiking a ridge overlooking Massachusetts, New York State, and Connecticut at peak fall foliage. We took a break to confirm our route with the trail map, and the next thing I knew, Jason is down on one knee, holding up the most beautiful and perfect ring, and asked me to marry him. I said yes! The rest of the day we were both on cloud nine, and we have both been enjoying the engagements since.
